President Barack Obama took a swipe at Donald Trump referring to him as unfit to serve as a president. He said Mr. Trump is incompetent to succeed him in office.
“I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president,” Obama said.

Mr Obama’s statement may not be unconnected with Trump recent display of disrespect and negative thoughts, especially towards a Gold Star family, that paid the ultimate price while serving America.
In a formal press statement, Obama said the notion he (Trump) would attack a Gold Star family that made such an extraordinary sacrifice on behalf of America means he is not worthy to be a president.
“The fact that he doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle East in Asia means that he’s woefully unprepared to do this job.”
Mr. Obama said he is not alone in his belief that Trump is unprepared to succeed him, but blasted Republican leaders for their unwillingness to revoke their endorsements of the candidate despite their repeated denunciations of his statements.
“The question I think they have to ask themselves is if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” Obama said. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”
