The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria on Monday morning defeated Mali 2-0 to retain the 2015 FIFA under 17 world championship in Chile.
After a barren first half, the Nigerians scored in quick succession to tame the determined Malians.
Eaglets earlier lost a golden opportunity in the first half to take the lead but goals from top scorer, Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye ensured Nigeria’s emphatic victory in the second half.
Meanwhile, Nigeria also carted away awards from the competition — highest goal scorer, most valuable player of the tournament, second most valuable player, third highest goal scorer.
