United States President, Donald Trump, on Wednesday, said Russia was hurting efforts to rid North Korea of nuclear weapons, while China had been helpful.
Trump stated this before awarding the Medal of Honor to Vietnam War Veteran, retired Army Capt. Gary Rose, during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington.
Trump, in an interview with Fox Business Network noted it would be easier to resolve the North Korea nuclear issue if the United States had a better relationship with Russia.
“China is helping us and maybe Russia’s going through the other way and hurting what we’re getting,” Trump said of the North Korea situation.
Recall a series of weapons tests by North Korea and a string of increasingly confrontational exchanges between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un have ratcheted up tensions.
Donald Trump wants China’s help in bringing North Korea to order for China is an ally and accounts for more than 90 percent of trade with the isolated country.
But Trump believes that the North Korean situation would be easier settled if the relationship with Russia was a cordial one.
